
![]() MTC announces partnership to produce The Brother/Sister Plays
Marin Theatre Company announces a first-time partnership with A.C.T. and Magic Theatre. Tarell Alvin McCraney’s trilogy, The Brother/Sister Plays, will receive its West Coast premiere at the three theaters in the fall of 2010. The three interconnected plays introduced a brilliant new American voice this season, causing the Chicago Tribune to state “surely the greatest piece of writing by an American playwright under 30 in a generation or more.” Click here for more details. ![]() 2010 New Play Prizes Announced
Artistic Director Jasson Minadakis and Producing Director Ryan Rilette have announced the winners of MTC’s annual play prizes. The Sky Cooper New American Play Prize has been awarded to Bill Cain for 9 Circles. Cain will receive a $10,000 award accompanied by a world premiere of his play next season in MTC’s Lieberman Theatre. The David Calicchio Emerging American Playwright Prize goes to Frances Ya-Chu Cowhig for her play Lidless. She will receive a $2,500 award, and will be included in MTC’s New Works series in the 10-11 season. For more information on these awards, please click here. |
