Marin Theatre Company’s annual Gala & Auction was held at MTC on Friday, April 30. MTC honored long-time chair of the event, board member Bobbie Chapman, with a tribute for her work in chairing the event this year, and for the past six years. Bobbie thanked her committee, caterer Stacy Scott, board members Beth Wintersteen and Jennifer Yang Weedn, and praised the MTC staff for making the event so successful.
Guest spirits were high on Friday’s balmy spring evening where guests enjoyed special vodka drinks created by the Gala Committee and donated by Blue Angel Vodka. The festive atmosphere of MTC’s tented courtyard and lobby was designed by Stacy Scott Catering and included delicious cuisine on sets representing each of MTC’s 2009-10 productions such as seafood for BOOM, an Elizabethan spread for EQUIVOCATION, and a full deli for MY NAME IS ASHER LEV.
Competitive bidding for silent auction items added to the fun—especially popular was a table of fabulous wines. The spirited live auction, led by expert auctioneer Greg Quiroga and fueled by a special drink created just for this occasion—The Wallet Opener—culminated in exceeding the live auction goal.
Elizabeth Spencer Wines provided the wine and Sonic Strut closed out the evening with its danceable funk tunes.
MTC thanks Gala Chair Bobbie Chapman, the Gala Committee and its Board of Directors, and MTC staff for creating this evening of theatrical fun and successful fundraising.
